Sverre Bjertnæs Featured in New "Duration" Exhibition at Deichman Bjørvika

We are pleased to announce that a major video work by Sverre Bjertnæs is a central feature of the new exhibition Duration, opening today at Deichman Bjørvika in Oslo.

The exhibition, a collaboration between the Oslo Municipality Art Collection and Deichman, explores the concept of time—from the infinite to the momentary.

Bjertnæs presents his ambitious 2015 work, "Nå. Ingenting. To" (Now. Nothing. Two). Located in the Art Section on the 4th floor, this hypnotic 24-hour film creates a unique viewing experience. The film follows two stray dogs in a backyard in Sofia as they rest, play, and sleep over the course of a full day.

However, the realism is punctuated by the surreal: the dogs circle a black hole that acts as a portal, releasing animated art-historical figures and human organs. The animations, created in collaboration with Sindre Ofstad, combined with a recurring musical score and visual filters, create an atmosphere that is both meditative and unsettling.

At the exhibition, the work is displayed on two screens starting with a 12-hour time difference, challenging the viewer to consider their own relationship with time and patience.
