First time hanging a show together
eiklid/rusten was founded in 2025 with a shared ambition to build something lasting. The gallery represents a convergence of perspectives. It brings together Gard Eiklid’s international outlook from a decade at Golsa and Petter Rusten’s deep roots in the Norwegian art scene from fourteen years at Brandstrup. By combining these strengths, we bridge the gap between the local studio and the global market.
Located in Frogner, Oslo’s new gallery district, our program is defined by the constructed image. We move beyond the simple distinction between painting and sculpture to champion artists who insist on the physical weight of their work.
We are drawn to tactile storytelling. From the raw, intuitive impasto of Trude Viken and the chainsaw-carved resistance of Gunvor Nervold Antonsen to the precise, tapestry-like compositions of Sophie Larrimore and the remixed narratives of Charlie Roberts, our artists share an uncompromising dedication to their craft. They do not just reflect the world. They rebuild it, layer by layer, fragment by fragment.
We believe a gallery should be an active partner rather than just a viewing space. We work closely with our artists to navigate the complexities of the art world to foster long-term growth. Our goal is to secure their place in history by placing work in museums, biennials and significant public collections.
This commitment to the long term extends to our collectors. We believe that collecting art should be transparent and accessible. Whether you are a museum director looking for a specific acquisition or a new buyer purchasing your first piece, we offer the context and guidance necessary to make confident decisions. We are here to help you build a collection that stands the test of time.
